This classic green bean recipe also works well with snow peas or sugar snap peas. If you’re looking for some variety, julienned carrot sticks are a great addition to this dish.

  • Extra virgin olive oil, 2 tsp(s)
  • Green beans, 1½ lb(s), cleaned and trimmed
  • Sliced almonds, ¼ cup(s)
  • Kosher salt, ¼ tsp(s)
  • Black pepper, ¼ tsp(s), ground
  • Garlic powder, ¼ tsp(s)

Method

Heat a medium to large sauté pan to medium heat; add oil. Sauté green beans for approximately 5 minutes until the beans are slightly blistered. Approximately 3 minutes after adding the green beans to the pan, add the sliced almonds and sauté.

Taste a bean to see if it’s done to your liking. If the beans need more time to finish cooking, add ¼ cup water.

Add the seasonings and mix well.
