Before Nick Torres turned 60 years old, his morning routine consisted of visiting the local fast food drive-through every morning on his way to work. One morning, he came to the realization that this was a habit he needed to break. Because of a long line at the drive-through, Nick walked inside the restaurant and noticed that everyone waiting to order food didn’t look like the healthiest versions of themselves. It didn’t take long for him to realize that he needed to make a change.
“Turning 60 made me realize I had to do this right. It would be harder and harder to lose weight as time went on, and if I don’t take care of myself, nobody else is going to force me to,” he says. “That's when I picked the Mayo Clinic Diet.”
Since joining this program, Nick has adopted healthy habits which now incorporate fruit and vegetables into every meal. He has a newfound appreciation for healthy food. Additionally, he has ditched fast food for healthy, satisfying options. Nick’s new favorite breakfast? Yogurt, muesli, and fresh berries.
Nick has incorporated daily walking into his routine and has even run a mile for the first time in a long time. He is optimistic and enthusiastic about continuing his journey with the Mayo Clinic Diet and looks forward to reaping all the benefits that his new lifestyle brings.
Now, 50 lbs. later (and lighter), Nick is excited to visit his primary care physician to see the improvement in his health stats.
