Gail’s journey to renewed health and well-being

Having started the Mayo Clinic Diet in December 2023, Gail is proud of her weight loss, especially after having faced a health and weight struggle through the pandemic.   

“During the pandemic, I came down with shingles,” she explained. “It was a long and painful three months where I couldn’t do anything. Unfortunately, the inactivity led to my weight gain. It was an awful time.” Gail knew she needed to lose weight and get healthy, but it was a visit to her doctor that made losing weight more important than ever. “It was discovered, after my last physical in May, that my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were elevated,” she said. “I was upset over the news—especially when my doctor placed me on medication to help lower my numbers.”


Coming to terms with her newly-discovered health issues, Gail began searching for a weight loss program.

“I live in Minnesota, not too far from Mayo Clinic,” she explained.

“The hospital treated my glaucoma and took excellent care of me. I was skeptical of other plans. It was the holistic approach that sold me on the New Mayo Clinic Diet.” Since joining, Gail has reached her goal weight of 148 pounds and is feeling better than ever.

“I lost nine pounds in the first two weeks being on the program,” she said excitedly.

Additionally, Gail achieved major off-scale victories which have made significant improvements in her health and wellbeing. “My doctor has reduced my blood pressure medication by half, and my resting heart rate has decreased,” she said proudly. “Now, I look forward to seeing my doctor!”
